So now I’m wondering if I can combine the ideas from these two walkways to create a wooden walkway suitable for our particular needs. Instead of pallet board, you should use Trex or at least have a grounded board. You may also want to lay down a gravel or crushed granite base to help drain water from the board. And I was able to secure it in place using Laura’s method of securing it using long landscape pins.
I need to think about this, do a lot of measurements, and compare the prices of Trex and machined boards. Any idea I came up with for that walkway was pretty expensive just because it was so long. I would love to find a way to make a really clean sidewalk. We considered gravel, crushed granite, multi-path, concrete and asphalt. If I had to choose my favorite material for the walkway, it would be wood (or Trex). You may need to start a GoFundMe for your path. 😀 Just kidding. But once started, it will very likely take a couple of summers to complete. As far as landscaping is concerned, I’m definitely into super long term planning.
