Risk Management Association (RMA)is a member-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing risk education and principles in the financial services industry for more than 1,600 members. Meyer To reduce the real estate footprint to accommodate a post-pandemic hybrid working model for its new state-of-the-art headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following an excavation phase that included a tour of a local innovation center to spark inspiration, Meyer was tasked with creating an experience for his 85 employees, customers and board members at RMA. A particular focus was on creating an innovative and collaborative space for all employees returning to RMA. office. With fair design principles in mind, Mayer has created carefully curated workplace destinations for her RMAs where employees and members alike feel a sense of belonging and an elevated work experience.
The entrance to the space was specially designed without a reception desk. Instead, they feature cozy fireplaces and seating areas, utilize as much space as possible throughout, and use acoustic lighting fixtures, curved panels, and soft materials that prioritize comfort. The design reflects the needs of flexible and collaborative workspaces, featuring an open café concept, large meeting spaces with extendable walls, and stylish, comfortable furniture and chairs.
Construction of RMA’s hybrid headquarters began in April 2022 and took about six months to complete. Employees and members will begin collaborating on his workspace in October 2022, but attendees will change weekly based on meetings and team collaborations.
Meyer was responsible for interior architecture and design, workplace strategy, furniture selection, artwork and branding. Meyer’s principal and workplace design expert, Debra Breslow, led the RMA Hybrid Headquarters project with her project manager, Jessica Nixon, and designer, her girlfriend, Dana Sweeney.

Meyer will work closely with RMA President and CEO Nancy Foster and CFO Brian Long to create a workspace that encourages employees, RMA members and board members to return to the office after the transition to a hybrid company emphasized the need to create working model. Meyer’s team has enabled RMA members and 85 employees to incorporate technology-rich, collaborative meeting spaces with retractable meeting room walls, interactive meeting room screens, and remote booking systems. Outcomes of the whole project
During the pandemic, RMA management reached out to employees through surveys and determined that returning to the office full-time was unnecessary, prompting the company to seek modern office space for hybrid work. After completing the workspace, both RMA employees and executives expressed satisfaction with the design of the space, the technology available, the historic touchpoints, and the view of the city of Philadelphia.
