Before the arrival of her second baby, lifestyle influencer Kimberly Chiltern needed to make room in her master bedroom by redecorating it. With her master bedroom relatively small and no existing storage space, she wanted to maximize the space as much as possible.
Here, Kimberley explains how she solved her bedroom storage dilemma…
How was your previous room … why did you need to redecorate?
Our master bedroom was in desperate need of storage that really took advantage of the space in our very small room. Before our second child was born, we needed to clear out the clutter from the other bedrooms and maximize the space we had. I needed to be able to store all my clothes and shoes in my bedroom.
How did you find your design visit?
The designer of My Fitted Bedroom was very kind and knowledgeable. He really listened to how we were using the space and designed our wardrobe to suit us. He suggested drawers in the middle section and even showed me how to hide the TV. Before our home design visit, we knew we wanted a specific door design, but didn’t have a clear vision of what the final look would look like…one that was completely bespoke to us.
how did you find the installation?
Our fitters were amazing and I cannot praise them enough. All done in just one day.
What design in the wardrobe and storage in the bedroom did you choose?
I wanted a Shaker-style door that was really rich and warm and neutral, so I chose the Shaker Continental design in cashmere for my close-fitting wardrobe. They span the width of our bedroom and you can’t believe how much extra storage they created.
Inside, there are 2 full hanging rails on one side and 1 hanging rail and lots of drawers on the other side. Then I chose a hidden TV in the middle. I love how the TV turns off when I close the door, creating a sophisticated and calm space.
BEAUTIFUL AND PRACTICAL – Built-in bedroom furniture is perfect for this busy young family. Hidden TVs mean the bedroom becomes the ideal focal point for family life, but they can cleverly hide a neat space to relax and unwind after a busy day. And all that storage has freed up precious space as a recent addition to Kimberly’s growing family.
