I’m sure more than half of the people reading this post have fallen victim to “boob lights” at some point in their lives. better known). And that’s great if you love them, but I’ve seen them mostly in rentals because they’re generally very affordable and ideal to buy in bulk . This one Only $16 I can understand is hard to miss as a landlord. Keep it up! Except for a short stint abroad, I have never replaced a rental light. Not only will it instantly modernize your space, but it will also give it a more personalized feel. Exhibit A – Caitlin’s Corridor:

I said 100x more, so I’ll stop, but as evidenced above, the results are undeniable. Now, replacing a builder-grade boo bright isn’t the only reason someone might need a flush-mount (or semi-flush-mount) light. Someone in your family could be very tall, so a chandelier would be a complete nuisance (I myself would never have to endure 🙂 ). Maybe you like them! Whatever your reason, I’ve done my best to show you really solid (and pretty) options in a wide range of price points (two for under $35!).Time to shop…
Under $125

Naturally, there is a lot of debate about whether or not you should invest in rentals. I’m probably not the best example of the latter, but affordable lighting is your friend. That said, owning a home and taking out a mortgage can cost a lot, so finding more affordable lighting options is just as valuable. Here are some of my favorite options:

1. White Metal Dome Adjustable Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light: I love the organic, modern feel! It’s technically a semi-flush mount, but it’s perfect for the look of a directional light.
2. Esheratan semi-flush mount: The perfect fixture to add visual texture and soften a room.
3. tapered flush mount ceiling light: A perfect balance of modern and traditional. Moreover, the shade has a nice shimmer.
Four. Legunsk: I’m crazy about these vintage versions! But how can you beat this for $28?
Five. semi flush mount ceiling light: Another modern traditional light, but with a little more drama in its black hue 🙂
6. Scalloped Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light: Mallory bought this for her entry and loved how it looked (it’s so cute). She said it doesn’t give off a ton of light, so this is good for spaces that don’t need to be very bright.
7. rattan pendant: very cute! The scalloped hem is also a nice detail.
8. fabric shade drum flush mount: Simple, elegant and compatible with many styles.
9. drum jute flush mount light: I like this drum shade tone because it feels a little more unique than the standard white. Plus, it’s on clearance sale, so it’s a great deal!
$125 to $200

As with most things in life, if your budget is a little more, there are some stylish options to choose from. I also tried to make most of these options big enough for your bedroom or kitchen, but don’t forget to check the diameter 🙂

1. Natural jute weave semi-flush mount ceiling light: Natural, geometric, clean. What’s not to love?
2. Allegra Large Linen Flush Mount Light: I love ceramic light fixtures and this looks so beautiful with lots of texture.
3. Semi-flash hand-carved lighting fixture: It’s totally vintage-inspired and we had a few looks around the house to see where it works.
Four. stevie flush mount: Perfect for California casual organic look.
Five. Copa Tiered Natural Rattan Flush Mount Light: Glam natural. It is very fun!
6. rattan semi flush mount: I like it to look neutral and subtle at first, but when you get closer you can see all of its beautiful texture.
7. node flush mount: It’s very similar, if not identical, to the one pictured above, proving to be the perfect splash of understated modern glamor.
8. small jake flash: This one is smaller, but very simple and elegant.
9. Liz Rattan Flush Mount: Personally, if you’re going to get a rattan flush mount, this is the frontrunner. Style is right up my alley!
$200 to $500

Upping the price, there are three different types of rooms, each with beautiful flush (and semi-flush) mounted lights. They’re really great in every room 🙂

1. moxie semi flash: Another vintage-inspired light that I’m happy to have in my home.
2. Tisse Oversized Woven Rattan Flush Mount Light: Of my favorite rattan flush mount competition, this might be the best. It’s from Athena Calderone box and barrel collection So don’t be surprised.
3. carneros milk glass flush mount: industrial yet a bit traditional (easily suitable for modern farmhouse style). I think this is a very cool light.
Four. cruz flush mount: Sophisticated and elegant corn shade, a little closer to the mid-century. But I really like how the blub goes down from the center! Such a nice little touch.
Five. Sago Round Rattan Flush Mount Light: This is the last rattan appliance that really sticks in my mind. Brown rattan is not usually seen, but it is very chic.
6. Ariel Flute Marble Flush Mount Light: What’s not to love? With a diameter of 12 inches, it’s a versatile light that’s perfect for small spaces.
7. Rainier Brass Conical Flush Mount Light: The simplicity of metal and the tone of brass are so beautiful!
8. Zara semi flash: A nod to a very Parisian atmosphere. Simple but looks so gorgeous 🙂
9. Node semi-flush mount: I’ve had my eye on this for a while. It has a bit of a modern brutal feel to it, which I love.
Ten. Tiered drum semi-flush mount fixture: This is Rejuvenation’s new light and it’s beautiful. Classical and simple, it emits a warm and beautiful light from the outside.
11. Wally Flush Mount Light: Great trend forward option!
12. Conical 16 inch drum semi-flush mount: A very classic and simple piece with a very texture.
$500 to $900

There are definitely guidelines for flush mount sizing based on room size. A general rule is to add the width and length of the room in feet and convert those feet to inches to find the “ideal diameter size”. For example, a bedroom is 12 feet by 12 feet, which is equivalent to 24 feet. So my ceiling light should be about 24 inches.
Of course, you don’t have to follow these rules. As you can see in Birdie’s old nursery on the left, that beautiful flush mount It might be considered “too small” for that room, but it looks beautiful. Then on the right, Megan Hopp used the same fixture, possibly missing the recessed light. In fact, there are at least two in the room (the other one is not visible in this photo). Now, you might think these fixtures are too big to replace recessed lights, but they look great! So check the rules, then discard them if necessary: )

1. breton flush mount: Classic style with the most beautiful gloss.
2. Astor 12″ Flush Mount: Perforated details give a cool and interesting impression.
3. Blair 10 inch flush mount: I love the shape and have a lot of other metals.
Four. Turio Oversized Black Flush Mount Light: Perfect if you want a chandelier-like feel but don’t have a lot of ceiling height.
Five. capiz flush mount: I love the honeycomb detail, it really catches the eye.
6. Auden Blackened Brass Flush Mount Light: This is right up my alley. I love the chic saucer lights.
7. 6 Light Perforated Elegant Ceiling Flush Mount: Another vintage inspired piece that I adore. Also many other metal options are available.

Ten. Renato Flash: This best describes “sophisticated glamour”.
11. Clark flush mount: As you can see from the photo above, this is a real show stopper and very pretty.
