Happy pruning season to you and yours!
Now that it’s officially spring, it should be easier to find branches in the garden, cut them, and bring them inside.
But what if you don’t have a garden or don’t want to cut 4 large branches from your magnolia tree every 10 days for the rest of your life?

I always prefer real greens to real greens, but sometimes you want options.
above magnolia branch on the leftI like having buds. On the right we added two more live branches from the garden. Do you know how good fakes are?

Left here is my beloved live pencil cactus plant. Not all pencil cacti look like that, but look for that when buying. pretend pencil cactusI’m still using it, but I think a different vase or planter would have the same effect.

To me this is an outdoor plant, but what do I know? Caladium is sold, this one stem has 7 leaves, it looks like the real thing. I like the combination with this vase, so I’m thinking of buying another stem, but it’s a little sparse.

I love asparagus fernI have some real ferns and now pretend to be these very real ferns. This is just 3 stems. I think I will buy 3-4 more for a fuller look, but I am really happy with how it looks and feels.

Tropical looks almost fake even when it’s real, so it’s easy to get it right. fan palm leaf.

here i have two bundles Italian RuscusI love how big and substantial it is. Personally, this looks the fakest of all the greens, but it’s still decent.
When you buy a pretend green, you want it to look real enough to fool everyone. Older plants may even be “planted” in pots with dead soil. You know you’ve found a great vegetable when you feel like watering.
Also, if you are interested, This is how I made my plate wall.

Remember that greens always want to pair with some kind of container. Here’s a little more detail on the types of vases to look for.
