Before I left for my trip, I went to the garden center and rounded up my summer annuals and planted them in containers on the back deck and patio and pool areas. brings you I can’t imagine not planting a planter. Yes, plants have gone up in price, but you have to buy them for pure enjoyment anyway.
I spent about $170 on all these plants.
I chose the same plants for all three large planters by the pool, all from Home Depot. I love Caladium, so I paired it with calla lilies and green spike plants, and Tropical Sunrise Superbell Calibrachoa. May the calla flowers bloom all summer long.
They sure look all planted nicely. I wanted to start them before I left so they could start growing and get big for the hot summer ahead.
They all need to spread out and eventually take over the planter. As you can see, I love pink when it comes to flowers. The pink shade is my favorite and I can never resist. Those caladiums are just gorgeous.
It’s a pain to keep this pool area clean due to the debris falling from the woods behind it, but I’m sure that everything has been cleaned up and that you’re really enjoying your new pool. It cuts to the task of keeping it off the lawn and patio. Our forest is no joke!
These plants will definitely brighten up our patio space for the next few months.
On my deck, I also like to plant basil every summer to make cooking easier, so I planted basil and mint in this old crusty container.
I always add pink geraniums to this side table to add color to my deck.
The deck has plenty of shade so I can grow impatiens, one of my favorite summer annuals. I love them for so long! I paired these pink ones with a trailing white bacopa.
Creeping Jenny will also be back, so make it all grow.
Mark’s pressure washed down the patio and I swept upstairs on the deck and under the deck porch, scrubbing everything from winter grime. We really enjoy this outdoor space that we are blessed with. If you missed my post on how I added this faux tile effect to my patio a few years ago, you can read all about it. One. This product has held up very well and is still looking great after 3.5 years.
Happy summer, are you planting yet? We still have a raised bed garden to work on when we return. We want to plant all the tomatoes we can fit into one small area.
