We recently invited Year 10 students from Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester, for a guided tour of our latest multi-million pound live construction project.
This building in Salford Quays is in the midst of a complete redevelopment, with Paramount converting an old office site into 151 residential apartments with plans for a communal roof terrace, BBQ area and outdoor cinema. I’m here.
During the visit, the students were given a tour of the building as directed by the project manager. The project manager detailed the plans for the site and explained the architectural elements included in the project. He described the typical challenges experienced in large building projects and discussed perceptions of the construction industry and the range of career opportunities available.

In addition to the student visits, Paramount presented the Academy with a £1,000 check. This donation will go to the community her hub, which provides much-needed support and community facilities. This includes community food stores, English lessons for newcomers to the country, career advice and youth support.
“It was a pleasure to host a tour of a live, large-scale construction project. The students were smart, well-behaved, and actively participated in the visit as well as the Q&A session with the project manager. We are pleased that this tour gave the students an insight into the construction industry, quelled their fears of entering the profession, and encouraged them to explore the types of opportunities available. I wish you all the best.”
Dimitri Tsakiris – Commercial Director (Construction)
Paramount aims to complete the project in the fall of 2023.
