Over the years, Shea and the design team have been fortunate enough to develop quite a few nursery ideas for clients, seeing them at the forefront from mood boards to personal play areas. We aim to include design elements that repeat throughout the homes they live in, but like the child who lives within them, each has its own feel, palette, and personality.
From rooms filled with charming patterns to neutral and calming spaces, these cool rooms for kids are loved from the first use and built to grow as kids get older. No.01 | Maggie Kids
Look no further for a cooler room for kids than McGee’s own Utah home. Len, Ivy and Margot have the ultimate designer mom who has created some really great places for her young family to grow up in. No.02 | Hilltop Estate Kids
One of our favorite room designs for kids is in the Hilltop Estate project. “I am so happy to have designed a space that grows. It speaks to [the importance of] Choose transition pieces that can be altered by textiles and color palettes,” says Shea of decorating a child’s room. Setting plaster by Farrow & Ball covers the walls of the project girl’s room and accents a soft white four-poster bed. In the boys’ room, McGee & Co.’s hensley bed Underneath the football three-dimensional art piece, other features are ainsworth bed On top of the Bavaria handwoven indoor/outdoor rugs It serves as a beautiful feature with tons of durability against the wear and tear of a young boy’s life.

No.03 | The Rye New York Kids
If you’re looking for ideas for your child’s bedroom, keep an eye out for this fun space from the Rye New York project. As well as nods to the personalities of the people who live in the room through artwork and accessories, you’ll notice cool design moments like hanging swing chairs and work desks that foster a desire for kids to hang out.

No.04 | Farm Children’s Home
In Season 2 of the Netflix show, dream house makeover, viewers were introduced to a family with two boys and two girls. We’ve created a unique space that features a flattering color palette.Some of our favorite moments are from McGee & Co. faris bed Relaxed charcoal linen bedding, moody wood paneling (gunmetal by Benjamin Moore), client-requested pops of orange, the sweetest rattan bed paired with rattan light fixtures, northcott bed In fawn velvet with a lush and cozy atmosphere, in a kid-centric space.
