Fockema & Partners We have created a space that is both professional and playful. Netherlanden National Park (NN) We have an office in The Hague, Netherlands.
National Royal Dutch Airlines (NN) has made a strong statement with its completely renewed office environment in Rotterdam and The Hague, The Netherlands. The completely circular, zero-waste renovation required an unconventional approach and created an exciting new spatial experience. Fokema & Partners and Silo worked together to design event spaces and his four co-working spaces that foster interaction and immerse users in the world of NN.
All company events
In the post-COVID-19 world, people are more likely to work from home, and employees come to the office to meet with colleagues and business partners. This also applies to financial service providers NN. The iconic bridge over the A12 motorway in The Hague has created an event space where employees and guests can gather for important occasions. The entrance to the event space is an interactive transition zone that lets guests get creative. The shimmering orange lines on the ceiling move with the visitor as the energy changes they bring to the space.
In a friendly and bright environment, visitors are welcomed by the large mirrored bar. It is the center of meeting and connection. Biocompatible design principles and circular materials give natural comfort and convey NN’s sustainability values. Recessed walls invite you deeper into the event space, while a perforated steel ceiling recalls a canopy. The organically shaped auditorium is covered with flax-based scales, resembling pine cones and bird feathers.
The focal point of the event space is a dark, inviting auditorium with state-of-the-art AV equipment. Movable seating elements and clever curtain rails make it easy to adjust your space.
After the session, guests gather at the bar, where sustainability philosophies are put into action even at the gastronomic level. An integrated approach ensures that all event space users experience the organization’s core values at every opportunity.
Activity-based way of working in a coworking space
Coworking spaces are cross-departmental and spread across four spacious wings in The Hague and Rotterdam. Colleagues in other cities can use touchdown desks, and teams can reserve project spaces for longer-term collaboration. Each of these wings focuses on themes important to NN: creativity, community, sustainability and vitality. Wing topics are developed step by step as you walk along strategically placed volumes such as brainstorming rooms and quiet workplaces.Everything revolves around an active lifestyle in Vitality Space, which features tennis table desks, orange monkey bars, illustrations that encourage movement, and mosaics made from leftover wood. The essence of NN’s brand, ‘You matter’, is expressed in marble orchids that add dynamism and lightness to the workplace.
part of circular transformation
Event and coworking spaces are part of a complete renovation of all office floors at NN’s two locations. A comprehensive harvesting plan for this renovation has created the largest circular ‘harvesting hall’ in the Netherlands. By connecting all material flows and enabling manufacturers to provide expertise in efficient processing, a wealth of inspirational ideas and new aesthetics emerge.
