elsie studio We have designed a modern and comfortable space for Fire Police Pension Association We have offices in Denver, Colorado.
Elsy recently had the pleasure of working with the Fire and Police Pension Association (FPPA) to move their office space to 7979 E Tufts. The Fire and Police Pension Association is an organization that provides pensions and disability benefits to firefighters and police officers in Colorado. As such, it was important for Elsy and her team to create spaces that were not only functional and visually appealing, but respectful of the organization’s mission and the people it serves.
First, Elsy thoroughly analyzed FPPA’s needs and goals for new office space and researched the organization’s history. The main goal of the new office was to provide a comfortable yet professional and sophisticated space.
Elsy used a collection of historical photographs to create a graphic wallpaper and custom photo collage for the boardroom. These photos serve as a visual tribute to the great work that police and fire departments have done in Colorado over the years, creating a sense of pride among employees and guests who visit the space.
One standout feature is the recycled fire hose used to create three custom artworks that bring dynamic and meaningful wall features to the break room. In the same room, Elsie designed a custom her pegboard similar to a cribbage board that serves as a functional storage solution for puzzles and games. It also pays tribute to the cribbage tournaments that the FPPA looks forward to each year.
When choosing finishes, Elsie chose a color palette uncommon in the corporate world that ties in colors associated with fire and police services, including shades of red, blue, and purple, as well as those of the majestic Rocky Mountains. I made a unique choice to use. . These bold, vibrant colors add a sense of energy and dynamism to the space while subtly referencing key aspects of fire and police daily operations.
To further incorporate a symbolic connection to the work the FPPA provides, the reception and rest areas incorporated curved ceilings resembling service worker badges. Details like this create visually interesting spaces and conversation starters for FPPA employees and visitors.
