“Clients approached us without a concept or vision, and that’s what we’re here for,” says Londeros. “We ask them to share what they want to do, how they want the house to work, how they want it to feel. Our job is to develop space planning options that may not have existed.”
In this case, the owners attach great importance to family life and comfort and wanted a home that would make them feel like they were on vacation. The renovation took the house down to the studs, and the designers worked remotely from Miami, putting a lot of trust in local construction firm Pinewood Construction.
The house overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. Coastal inspiration is subtly incorporated through textures and colors without being overtly beach themed. The design team used his palette of warm tans, off-whites, sea greens, and a wide range of blues from light to deep, inspired by dunes, trees, and the ocean. Textures include fabric, stone, wood, metal, and reflective polished surfaces.
