Hanging art is easy with this painter’s tape hack!
If you’ve ever had trouble hanging art or mirrors with multiple hooks on the back, this helpful little trick will help.
If you don’t drill the perfect hole in the wall, everything will be unstable.
This is especially useful for large items where the spread between hooks is longer than the normal 24 inch level.
Also great for gallery walls if you use the same type of frame over and over again.hook should do it Try to have the same distance each frame. 😉
The first time I used this easy art hanging trick was many years ago when I was remodeling my son’s bathroom. I bought an IKEA mirror for my bathroom renovation.

It’s a Stockholm Mirror so it’s very clean. I would like to use it again in my current house.
It was quite large, so the holes in the back were far apart. You can use a spirit level, but most of the time he’s 24 inches or less. Despite having a four-foot level, this trick turned out to be much more accurate than trying to measure and transfer that measurement to the wall.
I wanted this because I was drilling holes in tiles accurately as possible. This little hack is pretty easy.
You will need to grab some painter’s tape (or masking tape) and stick it to the hole in the back of your art or mirror.

Make sure the tape is applied in the same position on both sides. (I mean the same distance from the top edge of the tape.) Then I punched holes in the paint tape.
You can also mark with a pen. TRUE Accurate measurement.
Check it against the tape. Adjust the tape accordingly.
All that’s left to do is drill using the marks as a guide.
I love that it includes 4 different sizes.
It will take some time to pass through the tiles. It requires some patience and a fully charged drill. 😉
Then you can insert the anchors or screws to hang the items. Be careful and patient when screwing into the tile, even after adding the holes.
Again, I’ve always used tape or a level to measure, and I’ve found this to be much more accurate. I didn’t mean to mess with this tile!:
Have you used this hanging trick? I am definitely a fan! Have used many times over the years.
