Another country has announced a digital nomad visa for remote workers looking for a change of pace, so U.S. applicants won’t even have to leave North America.
Canada just announced its own program for STEM professionals in hopes of filling a national shortage. The country already offers a program that allows expatriates to transition from work visas to work permits if they are employed by local businesses, allowing remote workers to stay in Canada for up to six months on tourist visas alone.
Under the new Digital Nomad visa regulations, non-Canadian digital nomads will be able to continue living in the country while working for foreign companies and clients.

The exact details of Canada’s digital nomad visa have yet to be finalized, but the government hopes to officially launch the program by the end of 2023, he added.
