BDH completes Baker Publishing Group offices in Edina, Minnesota with warmth and natural light. Baker Publishing Group, a publisher of Christian books, needed a functional and collaborative office environment that could meet diverse needs while reflecting his brand identity. Our 8,400-square-foot office features a carefully crafted mix of versatility with private offices, open workstations, and numerous collaboration areas. Enclosed conference rooms provide a professional setting for client meetings, while high-top tables and groups of supporting furniture foster organic touchpoints and internal connections. Despite the challenges posed by the angular building footprint and floor plans divided by the required corridors, the design team sought to maintain a harmonious flow and maintain a unified corporate culture. Strategically placed break rooms, amenity areas, and adjoining departments.
Taking advantage of the scenic forests and wetlands that surround the building, meeting rooms, lounges, and private offices were intentionally placed along the windows. These strategic placements not only provide breathtaking natural views, but also evoke a sense of tranquility during meetings and lunch breaks, providing a serene environment for editors reviewing manuscripts. The influence of the external environment also extends to interior aesthetics. Soft, earthy tones are carefully incorporated into the selection of furnishings and finishes to reflect the serene essence of the rich natural landscape that unfolds just beyond the windows.
Lobby bookshelves and an open office area are the distinguishing features of this unique space. Packed top to bottom with books published by Baker, his Publishing Group and its publishing partners, it exudes epic charm. The bookshelf not only invites the end-user to pick up a novel from the shelf and curl up in a cozy chair by the fireplace to read, but also celebrates the remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication of the authors and publishing staff. There is also a thing.
