Wave.GB completed the Anshan Naivan Chemicals office using paint as the inspiration for the space in Anshan, China.
The integrated office building of Anshan Naibang Chemicals Ltd. was designed by Wave.GB. It primarily manufactures paint products and services corporate steel mills. The project is located in Tai’an County, Anshan City, Liaoning Province. The project footprint is 2004m².
The paint is a flowing color. Designers use the conveyor belts of production lines as a source of inspiration, extracting and simplifying pipelines and equipment, presenting them as devices in the modern office environment, “injecting” color into all spaces.
The project integrates various functions such as laboratories, canteens, offices and exhibition halls. Based on white and gray, it contrasts with the color of the interior. Different ratios of metals, woods and colors separate different functional areas and create different spatial atmospheres.
The first floor is mainly the reception, laboratory, and dining room. At the entrance, the paint cans from the original production line were dismantled and modified to create a cut surface to create a split effect. A transparent screen shows the paint flowing inside in different colors. The pipes are staggered to inject color into different spaces.
The front desk is “infused” by a pipeline of colors divided into various red sections. The front desk design follows a circular flow effect. A resting area in blue and a drawing room in yellow are also “injected” into the entrance area. The open corridor door leading to the cafeteria has walls that “inject” orange, creating a strong contrast between the gray tones and colors. Enhance the visual experience of color injection. Several spaces around the atrium installation form a vivid visual effect, convey the company’s manufacturing content and also create a memory point.
The cafeteria interior is mainly composed of wood and eco-friendly materials. The bar counter and booth seats create a space like a coffee shop, creating a calm and comfortable space.
The overall color of the interior space of the laboratory is white, combined with metal partition walls and ceilings to create a modern and technological environment. The ceiling is a custom module consisting of lights, mechanical arm interfaces, air conditioning and ventilation, maintenance access, he integrated into one design element to meet all the needs of the space.
The main functions of the second floor are offices, exhibition halls and pantry areas. The second floor is a space based on white. Pipes protruding from the atrium continue to inject color into each area. At the same time, the pipe is injected upward into the atrium’s circular skylight.
The pantry area is blue throughout, with exposed stair railings inside and an open rest area with aisle walls.
The exhibition hall is a transparent corridor. As you walk inside, you can look over the installations in the atrium while learning about the exhibits.
The open office area is dominated by green, yellow and wood veneers, and the interior is also divided by windows into meeting areas and break booths.
Separate offices and large conference rooms use wood veneers and color matching in large proportions to create a relaxed and clean office environment.
