A small lamp on the kitchen counter creates a very nice and warm atmosphere in one of the most sterile rooms in the house. I’m happy to be following this trend, probably because I’ve been doing it for years. 😊
I love the charm of lamps in unexpected places. It looks great in a muddy room, on kitchen countertops, and even in bathrooms.
The dim lighting is great for small tasks at night and looks great under kitchen cabinets. Also, the texture of the beautiful lamp base and shade breaks the monotony of countertop essentials.

We have under-cabinet lighting in our home, but sometimes we prefer a small countertop lamp that gives off a soft glow.
To do this, I drilled a hole in the shelf and ran the cord to the outlet. Mixer hides all the code.
There are a few things to consider when choosing a kitchen lamp…
Keep in mind the height of the ramp.
A kitchen counter lamp should be slightly smaller and shorter than a typical table lamp. For example, regular nightstand lamps may be too expensive for this type of location.
The distance between the top of the counter and the bottom of the kitchen cabinet is usually 18 inches.
Modern kitchen designs may have a slightly longer distance, about 20 inches. So keep that in mind when buying a countertop lamp.
Be careful with lamp placement.
Consider the placement of kitchen lamps. Placing a lamp right next to a hot stove is obviously not the best idea. Also, most lamps have fabric shades, so you don’t want them near your cooking space or where you prepare food on a regular basis.
Thankfully, counters usually have plenty of items to hide the lamp’s cord, but if not, you can usually remove the piece of felt at the bottom of the lamp and pull the excess cord through the base. .
Check the bulb size and wattage.
Some of these little lamps use only candelabra bulbs, but they don’t put out as much light. Be sure to check before purchasing!
If you want brighter light, you’ll need a lamp with a standard E26 socket.
