Run for the Hills Mr. and Mrs. Chris Trotman recently renovated an old West London Victorian house that was previously built as two unmodern apartment blocks. Before plans for a side return and her three-room loft expansion were approved, it had to be officially turned back into a family home. The completed house is now a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom property. The team completely demolished the first floor and reconfigured the layout, removing the much preferred “double” front living/dining room, instead leaving a small “adult” living room at the front, then a small utility/ Create a guest bathroom, and a very large open plan ‘family space’ to the rear of the garden. This home has a stylish, modern feel with significant doors throughout the ground floor. But the design also boasts dramatic, oversized decorative openings, petal ceiling roses, and “vintage-feeling” yet new herringbone floors, all of which make the home warm and inviting. So, it’s full of the characteristics of the era. The design has a generous amount of textured limewash paint, giving it an overall vintage feel and a familiar charm, even though it’s freshly made.
A mixture of vintage and modern pale colors in open spaces and dark colors in small rooms, this house perfectly combines old and new, dark and light. (Please scroll to the end) this page about sources)
