11 Must-Haves in a Designer’s Dream Kitchen

In interior design, it’s important to think big. After all, with some projects, you can’t have everything you want, but you have to set the bar high to achieve great results. But in your dream kitchen, you can Everything and more. Here, we’ve rounded up the top 11 essential design features for your dream kitchen. Some are extravagant, some are downright utilitarian, and are worth considering as designer touches you want to incorporate into your next kitchen renovation, even if it’s only in your dreams right now.

WINN Design + Build
1. Quartz counter

Quartz is a dream for designers to work with for many reasons. Crafted using real stone, it reflects the natural charm of materials such as granite and marble. But it is also strong, non-porous, and processed and manufactured in a way that allows for customizable colors, making it highly color predictable and capable of producing a wide variety of looks (as opposed to stone slabs). may contain unexpected surprises compared to the sample).

This beauty and durability comes at a price. Prices vary by composition and manufacturer, but are generally more expensive than stone or synthetic stone.

Granite countertops are too exposed on real estate reality shows, but quartz is definitely the new must-have for my dream home.

2. Custom cabinet

Of course, these beautiful counters need something to put on, so you might want to add some fancy custom cabinetry.

There are two advantages to using true custom cabinets over generic stock cabinets that can be configured in many different combinations. First, custom cabinets fit perfectly into your kitchen, filling spaces with precision and making the most of corners, spaces between windows, and wall heights and lengths.

Second, custom cabinetry can achieve looks that stock cabinets just can’t achieve, especially when integrated with other features like chaise lounges and kitchen islands. This is especially important when you want your cabinets to be seamless, but go for the popular transitional style that isn’t ultra minimalist.

Plus, while white tends to be the most in-demand shade, custom cabinetry for my dream home can be in any color I choose.

3. (True) Counter-Depth Refrigerator

You’ve got a sharply tailored cabinet, but you don’t want to ruin the line with a bulky refrigerator. (Anyway, oversized refrigerators often end up full of unwanted food.)

Deep counter refrigerators follow the lines of a typical 24-inch-deep counter for a clean look, but be careful. Some models sold as “counter-depth” protrude slightly more than a normal counter when installed. Check the exact dimensions for the model you are considering and compare the notes with your installer to make sure the lines really match.

4. Deep Sync

Refrigerators can be too big, but I’m not sure the same can be said for kitchen sinks. Common sinks are around 8 inches deep, but sinks that are 10 inches deep or more (especially wide sinks) offer luxurious usability.

It is very practical to have a large pot that fits perfectly and easily inside the sink for filling and cleaning. Plus, if you leave an item or two in the sink to clean up later (on a perfectly fitted metal sink grate, of course), you’ll find yourself in a seemingly bottomless sink. You will never see those items.

A little extra depth helps prevent splattering when rinsing vegetables or pouring liquids, so it’s also useful for smaller sinks like bars, counters and butler’s pantries.

I will speak from my personal experience on this point. I have a deep stainless steel sink in my kitchen, as shown here, and I love it. This is an easy and affordable upgrade that is not only part of my dream home, but part of my actual home.

5. Touch faucet

Add touch faucets to sharp and deep sinks to make them even easier to use. These smart devices aren’t just for the minimalist, tech-conscious home. It comes in a variety of styles to suit both traditional and transitional kitchens.

The stylish faucet has a built-in sensor that allows the faucet to move with just a twist of the faucet, allowing water to flow even when both hands are full.

The next time you make dough (or just make a stain) and need to rinse off, you’ll be glad to be able to turn on the faucet with a flick of your elbow.

6. Drawer Ddishwasher

The pull-out dishwasher not only looks smart, but also has new intelligent features.

While running a full-size dishwasher half-filled wastes water, a unit like this allows you to wash each half separately, giving you flexibility in the size of the load being washed. In addition, you can keep one drawer running while another is stuffed, so you can clean frequently used items now while other items slowly accumulate over time. can.

No need to wait an extra day to wash the dishes in your dream home.

7. Hidden range hood

I was tempted to incorporate a bold, eye-catching range hood into my perfect kitchen, but I also love a range hood that blends into custom cabinetry, as shown here. Eventually I realized that there is no middle ground. The best hoods are either dignified focal points or quietly hidden so that other functions can speak uninterrupted.

8. Steam convection oven

Want to upgrade your cooking? Convection ovens have become a staple of modern cooking, increasing the efficiency of a typical oven by circulating hot air inside for more even cooking. But the new technology takes that concept a step further, using ovens that combine steam and convection, which some say improves texture and nutritional value.

Steam-cooked foods tend to retain more water and therefore more vitamins than foods that are simply baked or boiled. So a steam convection oven is not only part of my dream kitchen, but also a step towards healthier eating.

9. Pro-style gas range

Steam convection ovens may be high-tech, but when it comes to range tops, nothing beats the look and power of a chef’s kitchen style burner. Classic red knobs give the color a punch, and the exposed burners on this style gas range read ‘Ready to Cook’.

10. Deep drawers

This is nothing new, but that doesn’t stop me from installing it in my dream kitchen. Replacing the regular bottom cabinets with deep drawers (one or two per traditional cabinet box) gives you easy access to everything from large pots to stacks of crockery.

Dura Supreme Cabinet
To further improve organization, the drawer divider system allows you to divide the interior into perfectly sized compartments so everything fits in its proper place. Plus, you can adjust later if your needs change.

Deep drawers are also an affordable upgrade, as many companies offer deeper drawer units for the same cost as the more common 3-drawer models.

Kube Construction
11. Slab backsplash

I thought my dream kitchen with deep drawers had everything I wanted, but I realized I needed to go back to the beginning and finish with a beautiful statement stone.

The new kitchen essentials look eschews the mundane tile backsplash for a dramatic, custom look of slab backsplash, the same material as the countertops. After all, if you really like quartz countertops, it makes sense to put the material on a vertical surface so it can be viewed from all angles.

I don’t want to be greedy, so that’s all for now in my dream kitchen.
